What the results tell us for Goulburn Mulwaree
Barking dogs were the main source of complaints in the Council area. Council had the service of rangers during the reporting period and a large percentage of their time was spent on dealing with companion animal management issues. All barking dog complaints received during the period were investigated and resolved. In some cases 'nuisance dog controls' were issued under the Companion Animal Act 1997. Other non specific noise complaints were received see Table 1. In the previous reporting period Goulburn Mulwaree Council did not have a system in place for recording the number of noise complaints received, nor were any figures available from the New South Wales (NSW) Police.
Council action
As already mentioned action was taken in relation to resolving complaints over barking dogs.
Council did not undertake any ambient noise monitoring in the period of this report therefore it is not possible to report on trends.
