What the results tell us for Boorowa

Air quality in Boorowa was generally considered to be acceptable during the current reporting period. Since there is no routine air quality monitoring in the area there is no way to assess whether there has been any change in air quality over time.

Smoke from wood fires has not been reported as a problem for the Boorowa Council area, continuing a trend from the previous reporting period. Temperature inversions that trap any air pollution close to the ground may occur, particularly in winter.

Emissions from motor vehicles continue to have an impact on outdoor air quality across Australia, although this is most apparent in the larger population centres. Boorowa Council area is unlikely to be exposed to noticeable reductions in air quality due to vehicle emissions, although large numbers of seasonal visitors or an increase in traffic through flow, may cause some reduction in outdoor air quality.
