What the results tell us for Harden

Other than smoke from occasional stubble and hazard reduction burns, air quality in the Harden Shire is generally considered to be acceptable during the current reporting period. Since there is no routine air quality monitoring in the area there is no way to assess whether there has been any change in air quality over time.

Smoke from wood fires has been reported as a local problem for the Shire, particularly in winter when temperature inversions that trap air pollution close to the ground may occur.

Emissions from motor vehicles continue to have an impact on outdoor air quality across Australia, although this is most apparent in the larger population centres. Harden is unlikely to be exposed to noticeable reductions in air quality due to vehicle emissions.
