What the results tell us for Goulburn Mulwaree
The information for this current reporting period is similar to that in the 2004 RSoER.
Currently council does not have a database relating to contaminated land, however it is in the process, subject to time and resources, building a database All records about potential land contamination are stored with individual property record cards (although this is not comprehensive, and some issues such as location of farm gully tips are not recorded). Currently there are 149 certificates.
Contaminated land is considered only when a Development Application for a particular parcel of land comes in to Council. The information is drawn to the applicant's attention and it becomes their responsibility to address the issue. Discussion about contamination and remediation is covered as a part of the assessment of the application.
